Dry Needling

Dry needling provides a localised treatment to the muscle soft tissue, resulting in increased blood flow to the affected area and promotes healing.

Dry needling is a safe and effective treatment method for many soft tissue pathologies. Our Occupational Therapist uses sterilised individually packed acupuncture needles. These needles are inserted directly into a trigger point in the muscle which releases it and allows the muscle to relax.

Trigger points are known as muscle knots. Knots restrict blood flow and cause an accumulation of toxins. This build up can irritate the muscle and cause pain at the site of the trigger point and also refer pain to other areas of the body.
