Why Holistic Health Matters to us at The OT Place

Hi, I'm Tarsha

Occupational Therapist and founder of The OT Place

I created The OT Place in 2019 because I wanted therapy to feel different.

More human.

More honest.

More grounded in real life.

I wanted a space where people could feel genuinely seen and supported, and where health could be approached as a whole-system experience, mind, body and spirit, rather than a collection of symptoms to chase.

At its core, The OT Place is a space to reset, release, relieve and revitalise.

A place to learn about your body, understand what it’s communicating, and build the kind of wellness that supports you in everyday life.

A space grounded in natural health, human connection and a belief in the body’s ability to heal when we learn to truly understand it.

My approach comes from both professional training and lived experience

I went through a serious accident that changed everything.

I spent six months in a wheelchair, six months on crutches, and five years reclaiming control.

That season of life taught me what pain can take away, not just physically, but emotionally, socially and practically.

It affects your identity, your confidence, your choices, and the way you move through the world.

It also taught me how powerful the right support can be.

Recovery isn't only about fixing an injury

It’s about learning how to work with your body again, rebuilding trust, and creating conditions where healing can really happen.

That experience shaped my mission:

To help people understand their bodies and learn how to respond to what they’re feeling with clarity rather than fear, and with support rather than pressure.

What ever your age, ability or circumstance, the body is capable of immense healing when understood.

Wellness is built through intentional patterns, and I'm here to

support and guide you in your own empowered healing.

Our Mission

Helping people live life on their terms by supporting their body to become as capable and well as it can be.

We are passionate about helping children, adults, parents and whole families learn how to read and respond to their body’s signals, so they can build the healthiest, most empowered version of their life.

We believe occupational therapy is key, not because it promises quick fixes, but because it equips people. It gives you the ability to understand what’s happening, make sense of patterns, and build the kind of wellbeing that is sustainable.

That includes natural health principles, evidence-informed practice, and a holistic understanding of the systems that shape how we feel day to day.

We don’t see therapy as something that is done to you.

We see it as something we do together, a partnership that builds insight, confidence and practical change.

Our Philosophy

of Care,

Shaped by

Motherhood

Becoming a mother has deeply shaped the way I work as a paediatric Occupational Therapist.

It shifted my focus from working only with the child to supporting the whole family, which is why parent coaching is now an important part of my services.

My approach is centred on connection before correction, regulation before skill, and compassion before compliance.

I support parents to move away from self-judgement and towards self-compassion, especially during those moments when parenting feels heavy and the question “am I doing enough?” comes up.

Motherhood has also deepened my understanding of children and strengthened the joy I find in supporting them and their families.

A Note from My Heart to Yours

The OT Place is a small WA business built with care for our community. We work with people who align with this approach and refer on when someone needs a different kind of support, because the right fit matters.

Above all, we want people to feel empowered, not dependent, and to leave with a clearer understanding of themselves and the tools to keep moving forward.

If you’re here because something doesn’t feel quite right in your body, or you’re wanting support for your child, you don’t need to have it all figured out. Curiosity is enough to start.

We’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
